The news that OnePlus Open and OPPO Find N3 are the same phone might not have sat well with many users simply because the market needs innovation instead of having two identical devices, only differentiated with software and the name. However, it is happening, and we can do little to change that.
The OnePlus Open is coming to challenge the likes of Pixel Fold and the Galaxy Z Fold 5
If you are loyal to OnePlus and have been waiting for the company to release its latest and greatest foldable flagship, then you will not have to wait any longer as we finally have the release date confirmed by the company, and it is coming sooner than some might expect.
The OnePlus Open or the OPPO Find N3 will be going official on October 19th. This is not something that should be a surprise to a lot of people because this is exactly the release date that we had heard of in the past, so it certainly is nice to see that the phones are going to be official sooner rather than later, and well, the marketing material for these devices has also leaked recently, so there is not much that you can hide about these phones.
Regarding the OnePlus Open, the company’s COO and president, Kinder Liu, has claimed in a press release that the latest foldable will bring “elegant, lightweight, and slim design, alongside an imperceptible screen crease, unprecedented imaging performance, efficient software, and premium quality.” As someone who has been using a OnePlus 10 Pro for some time, I really hope that is the case, especially in the imaging department.
The specs of the OnePlus Open are already pretty solid. The phone will be launching with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, base 256 gigs of storage, 4,800 mAh battery with 67W wired charging, and an impressive camera system on the back, which you can tell by just looking at the size of the camera island. The phone is also said to have a lighter hinge with fewer moving parts, which should make it more durable.
The OnePlus Open will be official on October 19th in an event in Mumbai, India. We will be keeping you posted with all the information that we get our hands on about the latest phone from OnePlus. Until then, be sure to stay tuned.
