One UI 6.1.1 Update Is Extending To Other Galaxy Flagship Devices With Some New Advanced Features

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Z Flip 6 were launched with the One UI 6.1.1 update, bringing advanced new features to the foldable series. The latest update is AI-centric and will bring more capabilities to Samsung’s flagship devices, which are focused on improving the overall user experience. Users who do not plan on upgrading to these foldable models will be relieved to know that the software update will also be coming to other Galaxy devices.

Samsung is expanding its One UI 6.1.1 update to other Galaxy devices with some advanced AI-powered features

One UI 6.1.1 rolled out with the recently unveiled Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Z Fold 6 at the Unpacked event 2024. While speculations regarding other devices receiving the update have been doing the rounds, it is only recently that we got a confirmation list of the Galaxy flagship devices that would be getting the One UI 6.1.1 update along with some new AI-powered features.

As per the news shared by well-known tipster Tarun Vats on X, formerly Twitter, Samsung has confirmed on a forum the list of flagship devices that would be getting the One UI 6.1.1 update. It looks like all the phones and tablets released in the past two or three years are part of it:

  • Galaxy S22 series
  • Galaxy Z Fold 4
  • Galaxy Z Flip 4
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5
  • Galaxy S23 series
  • Galaxy S23 FE
  • Galaxy Tab S8
  • Galaxy Tab S9
  • Galaxy S24 series

Samsung is not extending support for the software upgrade to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Z Fold 3, possibly due to the One UI 6.1 update already offered to the devices. Or maybe we should not write these off yet, and they could get the update sometime later. We are assuming that the Android 15-based One UI 7, expected to roll out at the end of the year or early in 2025, could include support for the devices not included currently in the given list.

In a separate post on Samsung’s official forums for South Korea, we got details on the features of the One UI 6.1.1 upgrade, which mainly revolve around camera advancements. The Auto Zoom feature of the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which allows users to automatically zoom in using the Flex Camera mode, will be coming to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 as well.

The instant slow-motion video feature will be available on the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S9, and Galaxy S23. Galaxy AI capabilities, such as Live Effect, Portrait Studio, and Sketch to Image, will be available on all Galaxy devices that are getting the One UI 6.1.1 update.

Samsung has not yet confirmed the launch date for the new update on the Galaxy flagship devices, but we know which devices will receive it for now. There is a chance of a wider extension later on.
