Instagram Now Offers You To Limit Your Posts And Reels To Just Close Friends

Instagram has one of the best implementations of close friends, an ability that lets you ensure that only people in your trusted circle can view your stories. It now appears that the company has decided to expand this feature to posts and Reels, making it even better than before.

Instagram wants you to have better control over your privacy and who sees your posts and reels

Instagram has decided to expand the Close Friends feature to include Posts and reels. This will allow users to personalize their content a lot more. Facebook already lets you limit your posts to certain people, so it certainly is something that you would be able to enjoy.

It is worth noting that the feature was reported to be in the works back in May 2023, and now it is rolling out to users. The feature may not roll out to everyone right away, but the good news is that it is finally here.

As you can see in the image above, you will soon be able to just go ahead and limit your Reels or post with just close friends. Just tap the Audience button when you are creating a post, choose Close Friends, and you are good to go. The best thing is that the Close Friends list will remain the same across different features. Instagram is also currently testing a feature that will let you have more control over the audience that gets to view your posts.

Instagram has been working on a number of features to improve the overall user experience, including the ability to turn off read receipts in direct messages, as well as a subscription tier in the EU, and more. The point here is that the platform is looking to ensure that the user experience becomes a lot better for everyone with more and more intuitive features.
