Galaxy S24 Ultra Could Finally Allow You to Take 24-Megapixel Pictures by Default

It is safe to say that December is entirely dedicated to the Galaxy S24 Ultra in my mind because we are getting a lot of interesting and exciting information about the upcoming flagship. Earlier today, I reported about how Samsung will be focusing on three tentpoles this time around–the camera, AI, and the build quality. Now, new information suggests that Samsung is finally changing how the primary camera takes a shot.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s camera is definitely going to deliver better performance than its predecessors with 24-megapixel mode and more

You see, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be equipped with an improved 200-megapixel camera, and by default, it will output 12-megapixel cameras through pixel binning. Sure, you can take images in 200-megapixel and 50-megapixel modes as well, but that would increase the file size by a lot. A new tip suggests that the new camera software will default to 24-megapixel, which should help you retain more details and give you more leeway when it comes to editing and cropping the image.

In addition to that, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will also have an improved Photo Remaster feature where your phone will use AI hardware to offer quick edits to the picture. You can just run a picture through this feature and see if you want to go ahead and make the adjustments that it suggests. If you don’t feel like it, you can just delete the edits and go back to the default image.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra will also be able to use the ND filter feature through the Expert RAW app. It is worth noting that the phone actually does not have the hardware to pull off neutral density, but it will be done through post-processing, which is pretty neat, to say the least. I am looking forward to seeing how it works, especially with all the AI hardware that will be finding its way inside the phone.

It is slowly becoming apparent that with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung is looking to make a lot of adjustments that will improve the overall camera performance for everyone. If you are looking for something that truly delivers an excellent camera experience and everything that you would expect from a good smartphone, then this is what you should be looking at. Stay tuned for more information on Samsung’s latest and greatest.
