First Galaxy Z Fold 6 High Quality Renders Show How Samsung Is Going For A Boxier Design Akin To The Galaxy S Ultra Devices

After several leaks and speculations, the first batch of high-quality Galaxy Z Fold 6 renders is finally here, and it answers many questions. Honestly, what Samsung is doing pleases me. The Z Fold series has been gaining notable improvements over the past couple of years, but nothing that would be considered a drastic change. It seems like Samsung has heard what people want and decided to go back to the drawing board, as the new renders show how the phone will have a boxier look and better ergonomics.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 looks a lot like a foldable Galaxy S24 Ultra, and I am all for it

Now, these Galaxy Z Fold 6 renders are CAD-based, of course, but they do manage to give us a better idea of what to expect. For instance, the device is now entirely flat from all sides, which reminds me of the design language that started with the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Galaxy Note series before that. I do love this. I am not going to lie.

There is a triple camera setup on the back that is protruding out of the back panel with the flash on its right. The back glass does look like it will use a matte finish, which is how it should be, as the device looks stunning in matte black. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is said to be 1.4mm shorter and 2.6mm wider than its predecessor, which is certainly good.

The approach Samsung is taking with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 shows that the company is looking to refine the design of its predecessor. The phone is now more in line with Samsung’s design language and, honestly, looks more premium, if not expensive, than before. Or maybe it’s just my bias towards flat edges and boxy design that I have started to love so much.

The source also claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has the same thickness as its predecessor at 6.1mm when open. This could mean that the company is still using the same hinge style from the past generation, which should not be an issue. Sadly, contrary to some rumors in the past, there is not going to be an S Pen slot on the phone, so that is one letdown that you might have to face. But knowing Samsung, we will certainly get cases with support for the S Pen.

You can even see that the cover display is wider on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. This might just be a speculation, but I feel like the screen looks almost as wide as the one on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, or maybe just a little less. The cover display will be using the magical Gorilla Glass Armor. The displays will have higher peak brightness, too. Previous rumors have suggested that the phone is going to have a titanium build, so there is another benefit that you will be getting here.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 should offer a 50+12+10-megapixel configuration on the back, with a 10-megapixel selfie and a 4-megapixel under-display camera. The phone is expected to arrive sometime in July, later this year, and should offer all the bells and whistles that Samsung normally offers, including seven years of OS and security updates, as well as Galaxy AI.
