Apple Is The World’s First Trillion-Dollar Brand, According To Research Firm, But It Had A Slow Year-Over-Year Change Compared To Other Companies

The lack of penetration in the AI space has not hampered Apple’s growth, at least according to research firm Kantar. The California-based giant has achieved a new milestone, becoming the first trillion-dollar brand in 2024. The company has beaten the likes of Google, Microsoft, and others, retaining its number one position for the third consecutive year. However, while there is no denying Apple’s legendary status, the latest report reveals that its annual growth was slower compared to the other brands.

NVIDIA displayed the highest annual growth of 178 percent, but its brand value compared to Apple is five times less

The latest statistics and rankings come from Kantar BrandZ Most Valuable Global Brands Report 2024, with Patently Apple reporting that the firm is currently valued at $1,015,900 million, crossing that trillion-dollar threshold and beating Google, which is valued at $753,474 million. In third place, we have Microsoft, followed by Amazon and McDonald’s. One interesting figure from these rankings is that Apple attained a slower annual growth than the others at 15 percent.

Even Google had a 30 percent year-over-year growth, and NVIDIA beat everyone comfortably with a 178 percent YoY growth. However, Kantar has given the graphics processor manufacturing titan a brand value of $201,840 million, making Apple five times more valuable in this regard. Just recently, during the WWDC 2024 keynote, the Cupertino technology behemoth unveiled Apple Intelligence, which is its own version of generative AI and has been tailor-made for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

This announcement should propel the company’s brand value to new heights, but others cannot ignore that Apple is far behind in the generative AI race compared to OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, and others. Assuming Apple Intelligence does kick off, perhaps we will see that brand value go up a few notches, especially with the iPhone 16 launch happening in September.
